What are the qualifications that you provide equivalent to?

An Apprenticeship is equivalent to 5 GCSEs, and Advanced Apprenticeships equate to ‘A' Level passes. National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s and QCF’s) are recognised nationally, while Technical Certificates are industry recognised, and Functional Skills are essential skills for life.

What are the advantages of work based learning?

All of our training programmes are work-based. Training and assessment is integrated into the day-to-day activities of the employee’s job role therefore there is no need for day release. Managers and employers can actively participate in the training and assessment process whilst the employee (Learner) gains the skills and knowledge that they can then immediately apply to their work role.

We also carry out e-learning and e-portfolios, thereby giving the opportunity for learners to access their portfolio and work from anywhere.

How are the courses actually carried out, is it in work time?

Training and assessment will be carried out whilst employees are at work carrying out their normal work duties. A Trainer/Assessor will visit once every 4 - 6 weeks. On occasions time may be required away from the ‘shop floor/desk’ to carry out formal reviews, target setting, assessment planning and on line testing. However this will be discussed and agreed with you by the Trainer/Assessor. Wherever possible, we try to keep time away from normal duties as minimal as possible. We would encourage all learners to complete the E Portfolio route, ensuring swifter achievement

How would the course work alongside our own in-house training programme?

If you already have an in-house training programme, we will integrate the NVQ wherever possible into this. This will support you as the employer in maintaining your own level of training as well as training staff to national standards.

How is the training managed?

The training and assessment we deliver is ‘Employer Responsive’, therefore we work with you, the employer, in the delivery of the training and assessment. We will discuss with you the appropriate training programmes to suit employees’ needs and your business needs. Also we offer comprehensive management information to keep you up-to-date on your employees’ progress, regular 12 weekly formal reviews with you participating and customer service support giving information, advice and guidance to you and your employees.

Do I have to enter into an agreement?

Yes, we ask that you sign a simple agreement agreeing that the employee can embark upon the training course and that training and assessment can be carried out in the workplace. This form also captures learner and employer details to enable us to gain funding. The Trainer/Assessor will discuss the agreement with you before you sign.
